What’s going on in beagle world

Well it’s been nearly 2 years in the making but the release of a new CD collaboration with the wonderfully talented Mechkov is finally ready. The word “eclectic” is an overused word these days but this collection of songs really is just that. We have rock songs to new wave, new age to ballads. There is blood sweat and tears (not a bad name for band is that…) and good honest hard graft gone into this, and it is something we are both very proud of. Fancy a listen? Click on the song links on the track listing on the right. You only get the whole songs, no silly 30 second clips here. Please drop me an email and let me know what you think? Maybe even have your own copy? What are you waiting for? Choose your format below: Make sure you check out www.mechkov.co.uk to see what the man is all about. All tracks written, arranged & recorded by Mechkov & Beagle. Copyright remains with the artists. Oh an there’s more - work is already underway on the next album!!!

ABOUT ME A BRIEF BIOGRAPHY Well my day job is an IT geek so in order to stay just about on track… I have been working in music for 35 years. During this time I have been in numerous bands as a guitarist and bass player for live fun in genres from reggae to rock, mod to funk. For the last 10 years I have owned and run a working project recording studio, recording many demos for bands as well as performing remixing sessions for demos recorded elsewhere. Please get in touch, always up for a chat!

So what’s all this about then?

Have you ever gone into a recording studio with not enough hours to record too many songs? It’s a long day, but at the end of it you’ve recorded and mixed all of the tracks, you are tired but it feels good. On the journey home the final CD sounds great in the car and you can’t wait to play to friends and family. Ever done that? Me too. But then I played the CD fresh the next day and I started to hear things I wish I could change, and the more I played the CD the more I could hear. Ever done that? Me too. Well then, now you have 3 options: 1. You can just live it and learn to pre-empt each play with phrases like “well, if we had more time…”, “just be aware we did all this in a day…” or “we don’t actually play it like that live…”. 2. You could return to the studio you recorded in to remix/re-record. That’s going to cost. 3. Or you could contact me. Let’s talk…

Thank you for mastering the track. The band and I am very happy with the result and it sounds very professional. I’d recommend your studio to anyone. Andrew Powroznik (Transcending Causality) I recently worked with Brian, who has helped us to mix and master a track. The track needed a bit of tidying up, and Brian was very patient and professional in his dealings at all times. Really appreciate his time and effort, and would gladly work with him again Duncan Morter (Watching Planes) Your work is absolutely phenomenal, you can take the time too feel exactly what the musician is feeling, works outside any comfort zones,  confidence is something I could feel in what you added to the songs, even without a background with reggae feels. Would always come back to you when I need a mix, amazing! Ellen Gadd (Solo Artist)
